While in Miyajima, I was constantly finding deer wandering the area--they are considered protected and almost sacred there. They were so cute, but sometimes wouldn't leave you alone if you had food. ^_^

She looks so happy and relaxed, even a "Human" environment.
It's true what Shemp Howard said in one of his "Stooges" shorts;"Mother Nature is one crazy old dame!"
A lovely photo!

Thanks!

It turns out that, since Miyajima Island is almost completely foot traffic, it is safe for the indigenous deer to roam around with people. Apparently it's common there, but I was still taken aback by it :giggle:

And YAY for a 3 Stooges reference! :iconiloveitplz:

Yeah, I'm an admitted 3 stooges junkie(Shemp is under rated and Curly is my boy!)I'm also a Laurel and Hardy fan, I love the Marx Bros,Abbot and Costello,Danny Kaye and last but NOT least,ERNIE KOVACS!!!

I hope I get to go to "Deer Island" in Japan someday.

Unfortunately, the 3 Stooges is as far into classic television entertainment as I get (wansn't the most popular in my generation). Glad to see you're keeping it alive!

To see the deer in Japan, Miyajima (the "Deer Island" you're talking about) and Nara are the best. In general, I would also suggest Shirakawago--it's a UNESCO site and a BEAUTIFUL place to visit! :D
